Knepp Rewilding

Since they began rewilding in 2000, life has poured back to Knepp, including nightingales, turtle doves and purple emperor butterflies – some of the rarest creatures in Britain. Roaming herds of cattle, ponies, pigs and deer shape the land, creating dynamic scrubland, wild meadows, wetland and wood pasture. Knepp is a story of hope, showing how nature can bounce back if we let it.the estate, near Horsham, is open to explore, with 16 miles of footpaths, tree platforms, bird hides, deer, Exmoor ponies, Tamworth pigs, longhorn cattle and white storks.

At other times of the year Knepp runs a very child-friendly “Rewild Your Child” programme: bushcraft, fire-lighting, wildlife tracking and building mini-beaver dams. Maybe not at this time, but at any time it’s exhilarating. FIND OUT

Are We Nearly Here Yet?

Six weekly sessions, from Monday November 2nd  – 2.00 or 4.15 pm

Venue: your house! It’s six Zoom sessions of 1 hour each

Richard Robinson will be telling the story of life, the universe and everything, chapter by chapter, blow by blow.

This is an important story; it’s all about you – your appearance as a hydrogen atom at the Big Bang, and your adventures through the next 14 billion years – exploding stars, under-water volcanoes, evolution, bacteria, worms, dinosaurs, apes, humans, civilizations …

… until the marvel that is YOU emerged, triumphant!

Each week, two 5-minute chapters in the story are followed by questions, games and experiments.

If you can’t make any episodes, no matter: the video will be sent to you anyway; all you miss are the Q&A, chat and extras.

Suitable for ages 8 – 12 and adults

Tickets – £14 (£1 per billion years) per family for the whole series of 6 weekly events,

Some evaluations:

…”Thanks so much for all your wonderful Are We Nearly There Yet? zooms. Christopher has absolutely loved them. … I particularly liked your cartoon molecules at the start!”

… “I loved the Zoom calls and I think that it should be made into a book because I loved the illustrations – they were fun –  and the facts are told in a funny way. I liked that you make the creatures have faces and say funny things. I also loved the activities and I think it would be nice to include them in the book.”

… “Absolutely wonderful. So excited to be able to take part in something like this. Richard has an infectious enthusiasm and manages to make complex ideas relatable and fun.”
